Children younger than 5, pregnant or breastfeeding mothers in Mission can benefit from the WIC program, which provides healthy food, nutrition classes and one-on-one counseling with nutritionists. Looking for healthy food, nutrition education or breastfeeding tips and support in Mission? Applying for WIC is easy! You can begin your application online or call the WIC office in Mission near you to schedule an appointment. WIC is available to many families, and if you or your children receive Medicaid, SNAP or TANF, you automatically meet the income eligibility guidelines for WIC. 1. Review documentation and determine your WIC eligibility.
2. Weigh, measure and check iron status for you (if pregnant) and your child.
3. Answer any questions you may have about health, nutrition or breastfeeding.

At your appointment, you will receive a Texas WIC card and a food package specially designed to meet your family's nutritional needs.

Breastfeeding is an amazing thing a mother can do for her baby's health, and it's not always easy. That's where your local WIC office at 722 N Breyfogle Rd, Suite 2-C in Mission comes in. They can connect you with WIC lactation consultants, breastfeeding classes, WIC peer counselors and a 24/7 statewide hotline to help you breastfeed successfully. WIC's breastfeeding classes cover many topics, including different breastfeeding positions, how to get a good latch, feeding patterns and baby's hunger cues. These classes help you feel confident and empowered in your breastfeeding journey.

For 24/7 breastfeeding help, call the Texas Lactation Support Hotline at 855-550-6667. This hotline is free and available to anyone in Texas.

At WIC, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to get the information you're looking for when it comes to health and nutrition for your little ones. That's why we offer free online classes, even if you are not a WIC client. Many WIC offices have in-person classes, too. Our classes cover various topics, including healthy eating, breastfeeding tips and more.

Our classes are designed to fit your busy schedule, with on-demand classes that can be taken whenever it's convenient for you, as well as live classes where you can connect with other parents in your community or ask questions for our nutrition and breastfeeding experts.
