Open Monday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Closed from 12:00 PM to 1:00 for lunch. Open Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Closed from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM for lunch. Open the 1st Saturday of the month from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Office is closed 2nd Thursday of the month from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM for staff development. Office is closed the Friday after the 1st Saturday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

WIC is open to many families in Houston, and if you receive Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF, you're already eligible for WIC. 1. Review documentation and determine your WIC eligibility.
2. Weigh, measure and check iron status for you (if pregnant) and your child.
3. Answer any questions you may have about health, nutrition or breastfeeding.

At your visit, WIC staff will give you a Texas WIC card to use at the grocery store with a food package to meet your family's nutritional needs.

Breastfeeding is an amazing thing a mother can do for her baby's health, and it's not always easy. That's where your local WIC office at 6719 W Montgomery in Houston comes in. They can connect you with WIC lactation consultants, breastfeeding classes, WIC peer counselors and a 24/7 statewide hotline to help you breastfeed successfully. WIC's breastfeeding classes cover many topics, including different breastfeeding positions, how to get a good latch, feeding patterns and baby's hunger cues. These classes help you feel confident and empowered in your breastfeeding journey.

WIC has free online classes that you can take from the comfort of your home and many WIC locations have in-person group classes, too. Online classes are free, even if you are not a WIC client and cover everything from healthy eating through pregnancy, breastfeeding tips, picky eating and more!

We offer both on-demand and live classes to fit your needs. Our on-demand classes provide you with the flexibility to learn on your own time, while our live classes give you the opportunity to interact with our nutrition and breastfeeding experts and other parents in your community. And with classes available at various times throughout the week, you can choose a time that works for you.
