Open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Closed from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM for lunch. Open the 1st and 3rd Saturday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Office is closed the Monday after the 1st Saturday and closed the Friday after the 3rd Saturday. Office is closed the 4th Wednesday of the month for staff development.

Planning on attending your first appointment at Gulfgate WIC Clinic, 3329B Telephone Rd, Houston? Remember to visit TexasWIC.org to see what documentation is needed. During your appointment, WIC office staff will:

1. Review documentation and determine your WIC eligibility.
2. Weigh, measure and check iron status for you (if pregnant) and your child.
3. Answer any questions you may have about health, nutrition or breastfeeding.

At your appointment, you will receive a Texas WIC card and a food package specially designed to meet your family's nutritional needs.

Breastfeeding is a natural and beautiful way to provide the best nutrition for your baby, and it can be challenging at times. Your local WIC office at 3329B Telephone Rd in Houston is here to help! They can connect you to various WIC resources to support your breastfeeding journey. WIC's lactation consultants, classes, peer counselors and 24/7 statewide hotline are available to help you breastfeed successfully. The breastfeeding classes cover topics such as:

• Different breastfeeding positions.
• How to get a good latch.
• Feeding patterns.
• Baby's hunger cues and more.
  For 24/7 breastfeeding help, call the Texas Lactation Support Hotline at 855-550-6667. This hotline is free and available to anyone in Texas.

Whether you like to learn on your own or chat with other moms and experts, WIC has options for you. We offer free online classes, and many WIC offices offer in-person group classes, too. Our classes cover many topics, from healthy eating through pregnancy, breastfeeding tips, picky eating during the toddler years and more!

Our "click and learn" classes are available anytime, and our live classes give you the opportunity to interact with our nutrition and breastfeeding experts and connect with other parents in your community. And because we know everyone's schedule is different, we offer classes at various times throughout the week.
