Children younger than 5, pregnant or breastfeeding mothers in Dallas can benefit from the WIC program, which provides healthy food, nutrition classes and one-on-one counseling with nutritionists. Looking for healthy food, nutrition education or breastfeeding tips and support in Dallas? Applying for WIC is easy! You can begin your application online or call the WIC office in Dallas near you to schedule an appointment. WIC is available to many families, and if you or your children receive Medicaid, SNAP or TANF, you automatically meet the income eligibility guidelines for WIC. Even if you don't receive these programs, you may still qualify by meeting the income guidelines for your household. Don't hesitate to apply and get the benefits that WIC offers!

If you are attending your first appointment at Los Barrios Unidos WIC Services, 809 Singleton Blvd, Dallas, visit TexasWIC.org to learn what documentation is needed. During your appointment, WIC office staff will:

1. Review documentation and determine your WIC eligibility.
2. Weigh, measure and check iron status for you (if pregnant) and your child.
3. Answer any questions you may have about health, nutrition or breastfeeding.
   At the end of your visit, you will get a food package specially designed to meet your family's nutritional needs and a Texas WIC card to use at the grocery store.

Breastfeeding can get hard and getting help is easy with WIC. If you're looking for breastfeeding support, your local WIC office at 809 Singleton Blvd in Dallas is here to help. They can connect you with WIC lactation consultants, breastfeeding classes, peer counselors and a 24/7 statewide hotline to support your breastfeeding journey every step of the way. WIC's classes cover a variety of topics, including:

• Different breastfeeding positions.
• How to get a good latch.
• Feeding patterns.
• Baby's hunger cues and more.
  For 24/7 breastfeeding help, call the Texas Lactation Support Hotline at 855-550-6667. This hotline is free and available to anyone in Texas.

At WIC, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to get the information you're looking for when it comes to health and nutrition for your little ones. That's why we offer free online classes, even if you are not a WIC client. Many WIC offices have in-person classes, too. Our classes cover various topics, including healthy eating, breastfeeding tips and more.

Our classes are designed to fit your busy schedule, with on-demand classes that can be taken whenever it's convenient for you, as well as live classes where you can connect with other parents in your community or ask questions for our nutrition and breastfeeding experts.
